Tutoring and GED Preparation

Together for Hope supports efforts in East Carroll Parish to ensure a quality education for all children in the public schools and for adults who wish to earn their high school equivalency degree. As of May 2019, we celebrate with our 26 graduates, many of whom have gone on to find employment or enter technical degree programs or enlist in national service.

Together for Hope joins other community partners to sponsor and organize tutoring efforts at Southside Elementary School. Concerned citizens and local leaders from Lake Providence work with the "Readers Brigade," working with Third Graders and their Language Arts skills.

GED Preparation

Together for Hope's director, Marc Boswell, offers GED/HiSET courses for younger and older adults in Lake Providence through the local Lake Providence branch of Louisiana Delta Community College. Community and national partners assist with scholarship funds, travel expenses, and classroom materials.

Art Club

At General Trass High School, Together for Hope partners with local teachers to offer an after-school club for students interested in art, anime, and graphic design. We also sponsor the art teacher, helping secure needed art supplies for students.
