Director -- The Reverend Marc Boswell, Ph.D.
Marc grew up in a small, rural community (Saratoga) in eastern North Carolina. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies at the University of Mount Olive, an M.Div. from Union Presbyterian Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University. His research focused on the intersection of race, economics, and culture in American Christian theologies.
Before joining Together for Hope - Louisiana, Marc worked with The Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church (PCUSA - Richmond, VA) and taught religious studies and philosophy courses at Virginia Commonwealth University, Union Presbyterian Seminary, and the University of Mount Olive. He also volunteered with Offender Aid and Restoration and served on the board of Area Congregations Together in Service (ACTS) and Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (VADP).
In Lake Providence, Marc teaches GED courses, serves as a CASA volunteer, partners with Community Action, is a board member of Providence Fuller Center for Housing, and works with Interfaith Louisiana.
